Early orthodontic treatment
The optimum time for your child’s first orthodontic consultation is around the age of 7-years-old.
Why is early treatment important?
Establishing your child’s oral hygiene routine is an essential part of their development, not to mention their overall well-being. Poor oral hygiene can contribute to a number of other health problems, not to mention self-esteem issues as they grow older.
Booking your child in for an orthodontic consultation should be high on your list when they reach the age of 7-years-old. This is because, at this age, our orthodontists can assess your child’s teeth and jaws and identify any orthodontic problems they could be at risk of. Treatment may not necessarily be required immediately, but the consultation will mean you can plan, and be prepared, for any treatment in the years to come.
